Wauwatosa, WI is the best geographical location for the universities and colleges in the Midwest Conference (MWC) and Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC). All potential qualifying schools are within 2 - 370 miles of Wauwatosa, WI and it's centrally located for both conferences.

The Lakefront Bowl is different from a typical bowl game where the teams are normally invited, like Division I (FBS) bowl games. This is a game where the potential participating teams qualify for through conference standings, final record, Pool A, and Pool C (at-large bids) to the NCAA tournament. The Lakefront Bowl invites the runner-up of the Midwest Conference and Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference.

We named it the "Lakefront Bowl" in connection with Milwaukee's Lakefront and Lake Michigan.
